Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in February 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 52.4% in February 2022, a 63.79% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 15.37% in February 2022, marking a 56% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 14.11% in February 2022, a 33.58% rise from January 2022.

Top five oil & gas companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 149.61% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s oil & gas industry during February 2022 over previous month.
Koch Industries posted 460 IT jobs in February 2022 and registered an increase of 405.49% over the previous month, followed by Air Products and Chemicals with 51 jobs and a 21.43% growth. Exxon Mobil with 50 IT jobs and Baker Hughes with 46 jobs, recorded a 19.05% rise and a 15% rise, respectively, while Henkel AGKGaA recorded a 13.95% decline with 37 job postings during February 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s oil & gas industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 94.17% share in February 2022, a 53.6% increase over January 2022. Canada featured next with a 4.18% share, down 11.67% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 1.65% share, a growth of 16.67% compared with January 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 55.48%, up by 22.86% from January 2022. Mid Level positions with a 25.93% share, registered a growth of 91.28% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 18.2% share, up 117.92% over January 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.39%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
