Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in November 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 48.83% in November 2021, a 7.96% rise over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 15.78% in November 2021, marking a 17.32% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 13.45% in November 2021, a 15.45% rise from October 2021.

Top five oil & gas companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 28.28% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s oil & gas industry during November 2021 over previous month.
Air Products and Chemicals posted 60 IT jobs in November 2021 and registered an increase of 1.69% over the previous month, followed by Exxon Mobil with 57 jobs and a 10.94% drop. Sasol with 52 IT jobs and TotalEnergies with 43 jobs, recorded a 766.67% rise and a 30.3% rise, respectively, while Marathon Petroleum recorded a 16.67% increase with 42 job postings during November 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s oil & gas industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with an 88.45% share in November 2021, a 10.01% increase over October 2021. Canada featured next with a 9.32% share, up 29.41% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 2.22% share, a drop of 41.67% compared with October 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 60.17%, up by 10.72% from October 2021. Mid Level positions with a 26.38% share, registered a growth of 7.33% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 13.14% share, up 5.08% over October 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.32%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
