Philippines oil & gas industry registered a 17.7% rise in IT hiring activity in May 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 3.86% in May 2022 when compared with April 2022.

Out of the oil & gas industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 9.35% share in May 2022, recording an increase of 1.52% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Philippines oil & gas industry’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Philippines oil & gas industry in May 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 37.5% in May 2022, registering a 62.5% decline over the previous month.

2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 25% share, a flat growth over the previous month.

3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 18.75%, registering a 200% rise from April 2022.

4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 18.75%, down 50% over the previous month.

Top five oil & gas companies in Philippines IT recruitment activity in May 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average flat growth share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Philippines oil & gas industry during May 2022 over April 2022.

Chevron posted 7 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered a rise of 600% over the previous month, followed by TotalEnergies with 3 jobs and a 200% growth. Henkel AGKGaA with 3 IT jobs and Shell with 3 jobs, recorded a flat growth and an 85.71% decrease.

Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 68.75%, down by 42.11% from April 2022. Entry Level positions with a 25% share, registered an increase of 33.33% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 6.25% share, down 83.33% over April 2022.
