PPG Industries’s IT hiring activity declines 7.0% in July 2022

US-based company PPG Industries IT hiring declined 7.0% in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 13.09% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.

IT jobs claimed a 4.64% share in the company’s total hiring activity in July 2022, and recorded a 0.45% growth over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops PPG Industries IT hiring in July 2022

Out of the total IT job titles posted by PPG Industries, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 34.29% in July 2022, and a 52% drop over June 2022, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 22.86% in July 2022, and registered a decline of 38.46%. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 22.86% in July 2022, a 20% drop from June 2022.

North America drives IT hiring at PPG Industries

North America emerged as the leading region in the global oil & gas IT hiring activity in July 2022 with a 57.14% share, which marked a 35.48% drop over the previous month.

Europe stood next with 34.29%, registering a 36.84% month-on-month decline. Asia-Pacific was the third leading region with an 8.57% share and a 40% drop over June 2022.

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 54.29% share in July 2022, a 32.14% decline over June 2022. Poland featured next with a 22.86% share, flat growth over the previous month. Malaysia recorded an 8.57% share, an increase of 50% compared with June 2022.

Junior Level jobs lead PPG Industries IT hiring activity in July 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 74.29%, down by 27.78% from June 2022. Entry Level positions with a 14.29% share, a decline of 37.5% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with an 11.43% share, down 63.64% over June 2022.
