The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 6.67% in September 2022 when compared with August 2022.
IT jobs claimed a 20.89% share in the company’s total hiring activity in September 2022, and recorded a 0.92% decline over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Shell IT hiring in September 2022
Out of the total IT job titles posted by Shell, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 58.02% in September 2022, and a 9.82% rise over August 2022, while Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a share of 16.04% in September 2022, and registered a decline of 24.44%. Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 8.96% in September 2022, a 9.52% drop from August 2022.
Asia-Pacific drives IT hiring at Shell
Asia-Pacific emerged as the leading region in the global oil & gas IT hiring activity in September 2022 with an 82.08% share, which marked a flat growth over the previous month.
Europe stood next with 16.04%, registering a 3.03% month-on-month growth. North America was the third leading region with a 1.89% share and a 20% drop over August 2022.
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 74.53% share in September 2022, a 6.04% growth over August 2022. The UK featured next with a 10.85% share, down 17.86% over the previous month. Philippines recorded a 4.72% share, an increase of 11.11% compared with August 2022.
Junior Level jobs lead Shell IT hiring activity in September 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 55.66%, down by 5.6% from August 2022. Mid Level positions with a 40.09% share, a flat growth compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 4.25% share, up 350% over August 2022.
