UK-based company Shell’s IT hiring declined 9.8% in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 0.77% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.
IT jobs claimed a 19.44% share in the company’s total hiring activity in July 2022, and recorded a 2.38% decline over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Shell IT hiring in July 2022
Out of the total IT job titles posted by Shell, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 51.2% in July 2022, and a 20.22% rise over June 2022, while Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a share of 19.62% in July 2022, and registered growth of 7.89%. Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 8.61% in July 2022, a 28.57% rise from June 2022.
Asia-Pacific drives IT hiring at Shell
Asia-Pacific emerged as the leading region in the global oil & gas IT hiring activity in July 2022 with a 77.99% share, which marked a 9.4% rise over the previous month.
Europe stood next with 19.62%, registering a 41.38% month-on-month growth. North America was the third leading region with a 2.39% share and a 400% rise over June 2022.
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 67.46% share in July 2022, a 1.44% growth over June 2022. The UK featured next with a 13.88% share, up 26.09% over the previous month. Philippines recorded a 6.7% share, an increase of 100% compared with June 2022.
Junior Level jobs lead Shell IT hiring activity in July 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 54.55%, up by 29.55% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 45.45% share, a growth of 18.75% compared with the previous month.
