Singapore’s oil & gas industry registered a 0.8% drop in IT hiring activity in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 6.07% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.

Out of the oil & gas industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 7.84% share in July 2022, recording an increase of 0.04% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Singapore’s oil & gas industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Singapore’s oil & gas industry in July 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 36.96% in July 2022, registering a 6.25% growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 32.61% share, an increase of 7.14% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 13.04%, registering a 50% rise from June 2022.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 8.7%, up 300% over the previous month.

Top five oil & gas companies in Singapore’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 6.67% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Singapore’s oil & gas industry during July 2022 over June 2022.

Yara International posted 11 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a drop of 26.67% over the previous month, followed by Keppel with 8 jobs and a flat growth. Exxon Mobil with 6 IT jobs and Brenntag with 4 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Halliburton recorded an increase of 200% with 3 job postings during July 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 58.7%, down by 3.57% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 28.26% share, registered an increase of 85.71% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 13.04% share, up 50% over June 2022.
