Singapore’s oil & gas industry registered a 1.8% drop in IT hiring activity in December 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 5.73% in December 2021 when compared with November 2021.
Out of the oil & gas industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 8.54% share in December 2021, recording a decrease of 0.02% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Singapore’s oil & gas industry’s IT recruitment activity in December 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 97.14% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Singapore’s oil & gas industry in December 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 60% in December 2021, registering a flat growth over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 25.71% share, an increase of 50% over the previous month.
3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 5.71%, registering a 50% decline from November 2021.
4) Computer and Information Research Scientists captured a share of 2.86%, flat growth over the previous month.
Top five oil & gas companies in Singapore’s IT recruitment activity in December 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 26.32% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Singapore’s oil & gas industry during December 2021 over November 2021.
Yara International posted 10 IT jobs in December 2021 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Royal Dutch Shell with 4 jobs and a flat growth. Exxon Mobil with 4 IT jobs and Keppel with 3 jobs, recorded a 100% growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Halliburton recorded a decline of 25% with 3 job postings during December 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in December 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 80%, up by 3.7% from November 2021. Mid Level positions with an 11.43% share, registered an increase of 100% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 8.57% share, down 57.14% over November 2021.
