Aban is a producing conventional oil field located onshore Iran and is operated by Zarubezhneft. The field is located in block Aban.

An expansion project is associated with the Aban, namely Aban Redevelopment. This project is currently in the feasibility stage.

Production from Aban

The Aban conventional oil field recovered 26.01% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production expected in 2022. The peak production was approximately 10.03 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2067.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 95.41 Mmboe, comprised of 95.41 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate. Aban conventional oil field reserves accounts 0.02% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional oil fields globally.
