Alabama witnessed an increase of 8.89% in total oil and gas production to 58,999.04 boe/d in February 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s USL48 database.
The oil and gas production declined 9.46% in February 2022 from 65,163.01 boe/d in February 2021. On a YTD basis, the total oil and gas production in 2022 decreased by 15.68% from the same period in 2021.
In February 2022, oil production grew 12.18% to 12,317.1 bd as against the previous month, while gas production up by 8.06% to 270.76 mmcf/d.
On a YTD basis, oil production decreased by 4.67% in 2022 when compared with the same period in 2021, while gas production declined by 18.13%. Out of the total oil and gas production in February 2022, oil held a 20.88% share, while gas had a 79.12% share.
In Alabama, W & T Offshore emerged as the largest oil and gas producer, recording a total oil and gas production at 20,760.28 boe/d in February 2022, an increase of 14.24% from the previous month. The company held a 0.5% share in oil production and 44.34% share in gas production in February 2022.
On a YTD basis, the company registered a 1.2% decrease in total oil and gas production from the same period in 2021.
Compared with other counties in Alabama, Tuscaloosa county recorded the highest oil and gas production, holding a 21.7% share in February 2022. The county witnessed a 2.46% decrease in production to 12,800.85 boe/d in February 2022 when compared with the previous month.
On a YTD basis, Tuscaloosa registered a decline of 11.1% in total production from the same period in 2021.
