Alvheim Conventional Oil Field, Norway

Alvheim is a producing conventional oil field located in shallow water in Norway and is operated by Aker BP. The field is located in block 24/6P (PL 203), 24/6P (PL 088 BS), 25/4P (PL 036 C), and 25/4P (PL 203), with water depth of 407 feet.

Three expansion projects are associated with the Alvheim conventional oil field, namely Alvheim Infill Project, Kameleon Infill Project and Kobra East. The expansion projects are currently in the commissioning, feasibility and construction stage.

The field is owned by Aker BP, Lundin Energy and ConocoPhillips.

Production from Alvheim

The Alvheim conventional oil field recovered 80.43% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2009. The peak production was approximately 85.64 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate and 43 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2030. The field currently accounts for approximately 1% of the country’s daily output.

Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 77.96 Mmboe, comprised of 55.36 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 135.57 bcf of natural gas reserves. Alvheim conventional oil field reserves accounts 0.02% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional oil fields globally.
