Bahrain is a producing heavy oil field located onshore Bahrain and is operated by Tatweer Petroleum – Bahrain Field Development. The field is located in block Bahrain Field Crude Oil and Associated Gas Contract Area.
An expansion project is associated with the Bahrain, namely Bahrain Development. This project is currently in the feasibility stage.

Production from Bahrain
The Bahrain heavy oil field recovered 86.00% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production expected in 2021. The peak production was approximately 44.17 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate and 790 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2027. The field currently accounts for approximately 49% of the country’s daily output.
Remaining recoverable reserves
The field is expected to recover 361.4 Mmboe, comprised of 88.1 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 1,639.78 bcf of natural gas reserves. Bahrain heavy oil field reserves accounts 0.79% of total remaining reserves of producing heavy oil fields globally.
