Bien Dong 1 Project is a producing conventional gas field located in shallow water in Vietnam and is operated by Bien Dong Petroleum Operating. The field is located in block Block 05-3 and Block 05-2, with water depth of 440 feet.

Production from Bien Dong 1 Project

The Bien Dong 1 Project conventional gas field recovered 31.92% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2016. The peak production was approximately 11.5 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate and 207 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2044. The field currently accounts for approximately 11% of the country’s daily output.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 263.44 Mmboe, comprised of 56.19 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 1,243.53 bcf of natural gas reserves. Bien Dong 1 Project conventional gas field reserves accounts 0.09% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional gas fields globally.
