Bittern is a producing conventional oil field located in shallow water in the UK and is operated by Dana Petroleum (E&P). The field is located in block 29/1b ALL and 29/1a BITTERN FIELD AREA, with water depth of 305 feet.

Production from Bittern

The Bittern conventional oil field recovered 77.75% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2001. The peak production was approximately 49.92 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate and 67 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2045. The field currently accounts for approximately 1% of the country’s daily output.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 54.5 Mmboe, comprised of 46.28 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 49.36 bcf of natural gas reserves. Bittern conventional oil field reserves accounts 0.01% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional oil fields globally.
