Block B Gas Development is a conventional gas development located in shallow water in Vietnam and is operated by Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group. Discovered in 1997, Block B Gas Development lies in block Block B & 48/95 and Block 52/97, with water depth of around 259 feet.
The project is currently in approval stage and is expected to start commercial production in 2024. The development cost is expected to be $6,800 m.

The field is owned by Mitsui, PTT Public, Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National and Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group.
Production from Block B Gas Development
Production from the Block B Gas Development conventional gas development project is expected to begin in 2024 and is forecast to peak in 2042, to approximately 1,640 bpd of crude oil and condensate and 490 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, the production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2050.
Remaining recoverable reserves
The field is expected to recover 632.98 Mmboe, comprised of 13.03 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 3,719.67 bcf of natural gas reserves.
