Cambay Shale is a unconventional gas development located onshore India and is operated by Oilex. Cambay Shale lies in block Cambay.

The project is currently in approval stage and is expected to start commercial production in 2023.

The field is owned by Gujarat State Petroleum, Oilex and Oilex.


Production from Cambay Shale

Production from the Cambay Shale unconventional gas development project is expected to begin in 2023 and is forecast to peak in 2025, to approximately 8,001 bpd of crude oil and condensate and 128 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, the production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2033.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 37.28 Mmboe, comprised of 8.62 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 172.01 bcf of natural gas reserves.
