Chesapeake Energy recorded a decrease of 1.43% in total oil and gas production to 10,48,853.28 boe/d in December 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s USL48 database.

The oil and gas production of Chesapeake Energy grew 1.14% in December 2021 from 10,37,014.56 boe/d in December 2020.

On a YTD basis, the company’s total oil and gas production increased by 8.15% from the same period in 2020.

The company’s oil production declined 2.54% to 99,443.59 bd in December 2021 from the previous month, while gas production declined by 1.4% to 5,436.86 mmcf/d. On a YTD basis, oil production decreased by 23.85% in 2021 when compared with the same period in 2020, while gas production rose by 15.13%. Out of the total oil and gas production in December 2021, oil production held a 9.48% share, while gas production held an 89.37% share.


Looking at the states where Chesapeake Energy recorded the highest oil and gas production in December 2021, Pennsylvania figured at the top, accounting for a 4.08% share. The company produced 6,12,673.38 boe/d in the state in December 2021, an increase of 0.96% from the previous month.

On a YTD basis, the company produced 69,63,694.51 boe/d in Pennsylvania in 2021, recording a decrease of 40.39% from the same period in 2020.



Chesapeake Energy witnessed the highest oil and gas production in Bradford county in December 2021. Out of all the counties, Bradford county held a share of 34.11% for the firm. The company produced 3,57,778.2 boe/d in Bradford county in December 2021, an increase of 4% in production when compared with the previous month.

On a YTD basis, the county produced 37,40,917.36 boe/d for the company in 2021, a 42.61% increase from the same period in 2020.
