Colorado witnessed an increase of 2.85% in total oil and gas production to 1,534,209.16 boe/d in October 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s USL48 database.
The oil and gas production grew 15.48% in October 2021 from 1,328,592.08 boe/d in October 2020. On a YTD basis, the total oil and gas production in 2021 decreased by 3.77% from the same period in 2020.
In October 2021, oil production grew 5.8% to 462,087.68 bd as against the previous month, while gas production up by 1.63% to 6,218.3 mmcf/d.
On a YTD basis, oil production decreased by 12.73% in 2021 when compared with the same period in 2020, while gas production rose by 0.27%. Out of the total oil and gas production in October 2021, oil held a 30.12% share, while gas had a 69.88% share.
In Colorado, Occidental Petroleum emerged as the largest oil and gas producer, recording a total oil and gas production at 227,678.26 boe/d in October 2021, an increase of 3.64% from the previous month. The company held an 18.69% share in oil production and 13.18% share in gas production in October 2021.
On a YTD basis, the company registered a 12.03% decrease in total oil and gas production from the same period in 2020.
Compared with other counties in Colorado, Weld county recorded the highest oil and gas production, holding a 57.34% share in October 2021. The county witnessed a 3.09% increase in production to 879,754.55 boe/d in October 2021 when compared with the previous month.
On a YTD basis, Weld registered a decline of 8.27% in total production from the same period in 2020.
