Damar is a producing conventional gas field located in shallow water in Malaysia and is operated by ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Malaysia. The field is located in block Damar, with water depth of 197 feet.

Production from Damar

The Damar conventional gas field recovered 50.98% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2016. The peak production was approximately 4.8 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate and 192 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2056. The field currently accounts for approximately 1% of the country’s daily output.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 76.16 Mmboe, comprised of 6.09 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 420.39 bcf of natural gas reserves. Damar conventional gas field reserves accounts 0.03% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional gas fields globally.
