Denver-Julesburg (DJ) Shale witnessed an increase of 2.21% in total oil and gas production to 10,89,688.4 boe/d in July 2020 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s USL48 database.

The oil and gas production in Denver-Julesburg (DJ) declined 6.51% in July 2020 from 11,65,557.26 boe/d in July 2019. On a YTD basis, the total oil and gas production in the play increased by 2.09% from the same period in 2019.

In Denver-Julesburg (DJ), oil production grew 1.95% in July 2020 as compared with the previous month, while gas production increased by 2.46% to 3,229.7 mmcf/d.

On a YTD basis, oil production in the play decreased by 7.08% in 2020 when compared with the same period in 2019, while gas production rose by 12.95%. Out of the total oil and gas production in July 2020, oil held a 48.9% share, while gas had a 51.1% share.


In Denver-Julesburg (DJ), Occidental Petroleum emerged as the largest oil and gas producer, recording a total oil and gas production at 2,44,007.62 boe/d in July 2020, a decrease of 4.25% from the previous month. The company held a 16.64% share in oil production and 27.89% share in gas production in July 2020.

On a YTD basis, the company registered a 12.09% increase in total oil and gas production from the same period in 2019.



Compared with other counties within Denver-Julesburg (DJ) Shale, Weld county recorded the highest oil and gas production, holding an 88.01% share in July 2020. The county witnessed a 1.61% increase in production to 9,59,007.03 boe/d in July 2020 when compared with the previous month.

On a YTD basis, it registered an increase of 3.97% in total production from the same period in 2019.
