The downstream segment contracts in Europe registered a decrease of 50% with six contracts in January 2022, when compared with the previous month’s total of 12 contracts, according to GlobalData’s oil and gas contracts database.
A total of six contracts were registered in the downstream segment of Europe during the month, when compared with the last 12-month moving average of 14 contracts.
Contract award activity in Europe’s downstream segment during January 2022
In January 2022, Russia led the activity with two contracts and a 33% share of the downstream oil and gas contracts in Europe. It saw an increase of 200% over the previous month’s no contracts and a decrease of 33% when compared with the last 12 month-average of three contracts in Russia, followed by Spain and Azerbaijan with one contract 17% share each.
Based on 12-month moving average of the contracts in the downstream segment of Europe, Russia took the top spot with three contracts, followed by France and Germany with one contract each.

During the month, the majority of downstream segment contracts awarded in the Europe were in the procurement with five contracts, followed by design & engineering and installation with three contracts each.
