Contract activities in downstream segment in Middle East down 67% in January 2022

The downstream segment contracts in Middle East registered a decrease of 67% with two contracts in January 2022, when compared with the previous month’s total of six contracts, according to GlobalData’s oil and gas contracts database.

A total of two contracts were registered in the downstream segment of Middle East during the month, when compared with the last 12-month moving average of four contracts.

In January 2022, Iraq held two contracts and a 100% share of the downstream oil and gas contracts in Middle East.

Based on 12-month moving average of the contracts in the downstream segment of Middle East, Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia took the top spot with one contract each.

During the month, the majority of downstream segment contracts awarded in the Middle East were in the design & engineering and procurement with two contracts each, followed by construction with one contract.
