Florida witnessed an increase of 50.28% in total oil and gas production to 10,390.92 boe/d in February 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s USL48 database.

The oil and gas production declined 10.23% in February 2022 from 11,575.52 boe/d in February 2021. On a YTD basis, the total oil and gas production in 2022 decreased by 26.23% from the same period in 2021.

In February 2022, oil production grew 39.32% to 3,635.18 bd as against the previous month, while gas production up by 56.91% to 39.18 mmcf/d.

On a YTD basis, oil production decreased by 30.3% in 2022 when compared with the same period in 2021, while gas production declined by 23.71%. Out of the total oil and gas production in February 2022, oil held a 34.98% share, while gas had a 65.01% share.


In Florida, Maverick Natural Resources emerged as the largest oil and gas producer, recording a total oil and gas production at 9,818.71 boe/d in February 2022, an increase of 50.55% from the previous month. The company held an 87.03% share in oil production and 98.52% share in gas production in February 2022.

On a YTD basis, the company registered a 27.85% decrease in total oil and gas production from the same period in 2021.



Compared with other counties in Florida, Santa Rosa county recorded the highest oil and gas production, holding a 76.62% share in February 2022. The county witnessed a 72.28% increase in production to 7,961.86 boe/d in February 2022 when compared with the previous month.

On a YTD basis, Santa Rosa registered a decline of 28.52% in total production from the same period in 2021.
