Fort Sumter is a conventional oil development located in ultra-deepwater in the US and is operated by Shell Offshore. Discovered in 2016, Fort Sumter lies in block Mississippi Canyon 566, with water depth of around 7,062 feet.

The project is currently in feasibility stage and is expected to start commercial production in 2025.

Production from Fort Sumter

Production from the Fort Sumter conventional oil development project is expected to begin in 2025 and is forecast to peak in 2026, to approximately 29,540 bpd of crude oil and condensate. Based on economic assumptions, the production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2087.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 219.46 Mmboe, comprised of 219.46 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate.
