In Amenas is a producing conventional gas field located onshore Algeria and is operated by In Amenas Gas Consortium. The field is located in block In Amenas (Block 233, 240b, 241).
An expansion project is associated with the In Amenas, namely In Amenas MEOR Project . This project is currently in the feasibility stage.
Field participation details
The field is owned by Sonatrach, Equinor and BP.
Production from In Amenas
The In Amenas conventional gas field recovered 84.42% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2009. The peak production was approximately 21.27 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate, 870 Mmcfd of natural gas and 28.01 thousand bpd of natural gas liquids. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2029. The field currently accounts for approximately 4% of the country’s daily output.
Remaining recoverable reserves
The field is expected to recover 158.81 Mmboe, comprised of 36.61 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate, 466.32 bcf of natural gas reserves and 44.48 Mmbbl of natural gas liquid reserves. In Amenas conventional gas field reserves accounts 0.05% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional gas fields globally.
