Kasawari Conventional Gas Field, Malaysia

Kasawari is a conventional gas development located in shallow water in Malaysia and is operated by PETRONAS Carigali International Sdn. Discovered in 2012, Kasawari lies in block SK 316, with water depth of around 2,297 feet.

The project is currently in construction stage and is expected to start commercial production in 2023. Final investment decision (FID) of the project was approved in 2019. The Kasawari conventional gas development will includes fixed platform and wellhead platforms.

The field is owned by Petroliam Nasional.


Production from Kasawari

Production from the Kasawari conventional gas development project is expected to begin in 2023 and is forecast to peak in 2026, to approximately 3,500 bpd of crude oil and condensate and 660 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, the production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2052.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 508.05 Mmboe, comprised of 12.93 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 2,970.76 bcf of natural gas reserves.
