Lower Zakum is a producing conventional oil field located in shallow water in the UAE and is operated by Abu Dhabi National Oil. The field is located in block Lower Zakum, with water depth of 79 feet.
Three expansion projects are associated with the Lower Zakum conventional oil field, namely Lower Zakum LTDP-2, Lower Zakum LTDP-1 and Lower Zakum Expansion. The expansion projects are currently in the feasibility stage.

Production from Lower Zakum
The Lower Zakum conventional oil field recovered 52.74% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production expected in 2026. The peak production will approximately 450.03 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2062. The field currently accounts for approximately 8% of the country’s daily output.
Remaining recoverable reserves
The field is expected to recover 4,374.32 Mmboe, comprised of 4,374.32 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate. Lower Zakum conventional oil field reserves accounts 0.95% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional oil fields globally.
