The midstream segment contracts in Middle East registered a decrease of 11% with eight contracts in May 2022, when compared with the previous month’s total of nine contracts, according to GlobalData’s oil and gas contracts database.

A total of eight contracts were registered in the midstream segment of Middle East during the month, remained flat when compared with the last 12-month average contracts.


In terms of the number of contracts in Middle East, the upstream segment contributed the most with 20 contracts in May 2022, followed by midstream and petrochemicals segments with eight and one contract, respectively.

In May 2022, Qatar led the activity with four contracts and a 50% share of the midstream oil and gas contracts in Middle East. It saw a flat growth over the previous month’s total of four contracts and an increase of 100% when compared with the last 12 month-average of two contracts in Qatar.

In second place was the UAE with two contracts and a 25% share, followed by Kuwait with one contract and a 13% share.

Based on 12-month moving average of the contracts in the midstream segment of Middle East, Qatar took the top spot with two contracts, followed by Kuwait and Oman with one contract each.
