Mississippi witnessed an increase of 0.25% in total oil and gas production to 126,805.13 boe/d in August 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s USL48 database.
The oil and gas production grew 10.78% in August 2021 from 114,468.04 boe/d in August 2020. On a YTD basis, the total oil and gas production in 2021 increased by 0.9% from the same period in 2020.
In August 2021, oil production declined 2.51% to 36,350.66 bd as against the previous month, while gas production up by 1.41% to 524.64 mmcf/d.
On a YTD basis, oil production decreased by 5.96% in 2021 when compared with the same period in 2020, while gas production rose by 4.2%. Out of the total oil and gas production in August 2021, oil held a 28.67% share, while gas had a 71.33% share.
In Mississippi, Denbury Resources emerged as the largest oil and gas producer, recording a total oil and gas production at 93,959.15 boe/d in August 2021, an increase of 0.9% from the previous month. The company held a 43.51% share in oil production and 86.39% share in gas production in August 2021.
On a YTD basis, the company registered a 2.48% increase in total oil and gas production from the same period in 2020.
Compared with other counties in Mississippi, Rankin county recorded the highest oil and gas production, holding a 40.94% share in August 2021. The county witnessed a 1.57% decrease in production to 51,908.27 boe/d in August 2021 when compared with the previous month.
On a YTD basis, Rankin registered an increase of 3.78% in total production from the same period in 2020.
