New Mexico witnessed a decrease of 1.38% in total oil and gas production to 2,359,663.1 boe/d in September 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s USL48 database.
The oil and gas production grew 20.93% in September 2021 from 1,951,304.9 boe/d in September 2020. On a YTD basis, the total oil and gas production in 2021 increased by 15.66% from the same period in 2020.
In September 2021, oil production declined 2.8% to 1,241,129.97 bd as against the previous month, while gas production up by 0.25% to 6,487.49 mmcf/d.
On a YTD basis, oil production increased by 17.94% in 2021 when compared with the same period in 2020, while gas production rose by 13.24%. Out of the total oil and gas production in September 2021, oil held a 52.6% share, while gas had a 47.4% share.
In New Mexico, EOG Resources emerged as the largest oil and gas producer, recording a total oil and gas production at 370,674.64 boe/d in September 2021, a decrease of 0.26% from the previous month. The company held an 18.85% share in oil production and 12.22% share in gas production in September 2021.
On a YTD basis, the company registered a 45.41% increase in total oil and gas production from the same period in 2020.
Compared with other counties in New Mexico, Lea county recorded the highest oil and gas production, holding a 46.97% share in September 2021. The county witnessed a 0.22% decrease in production to 1,108,396.53 boe/d in September 2021 when compared with the previous month.
On a YTD basis, Lea registered an increase of 22.97% in total production from the same period in 2020.
