Niobrara Shale witnessed a decrease of 0.12% in total oil and gas production to 389,159.99 boe/d in September 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s USL48 database.
The oil and gas production in Niobrara declined 12.13% in September 2021 from 442,860.71 boe/d in September 2020. On a YTD basis, the total oil and gas production in the play decreased by 13.03% from the same period in 2020.
In Niobrara, oil production declined 9.45% in September 2021 as compared with the previous month, while gas production increased by 0.63% to 2,104.74 mmcf/d.
On a YTD basis, oil production in the play decreased by 15.34% in 2021 when compared with the same period in 2020, while gas production declined by 12.85%. Out of the total oil and gas production in September 2021, oil held a 6.75% share, while gas had a 93.25% share.
In Niobrara, Ultra Petroleum emerged as the largest oil and gas producer, recording a total oil and gas production at 132,352.2 boe/d in September 2021, an increase of 0.87% from the previous month. The company held a 19.11% share in oil production and 35.09% share in gas production in September 2021.
On a YTD basis, the company registered a 19.98% decrease in total oil and gas production from the same period in 2020.
Compared with other counties within Niobrara Shale, Sublette county recorded the highest oil and gas production, holding a 57.86% share in September 2021. The county witnessed a 0.97% increase in production to 225,166.79 boe/d in September 2021 when compared with the previous month.
On a YTD basis, it registered a decline of 18.71% in total production from the same period in 2020.
