North Dakota witnessed a decrease of 0.7% in total oil and gas production to 1,625,025.89 boe/d in September 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s USL48 database.
The oil and gas production declined 3.3% in September 2021 from 1,680,506.54 boe/d in September 2020. On a YTD basis, the total oil and gas production in 2021 increased by 0.05% from the same period in 2020.
In September 2021, oil production declined 1.37% to 1,101,037.01 bd as against the previous month, while gas production up by 0.72% to 3,039.14 mmcf/d.
On a YTD basis, oil production decreased by 4.81% in 2021 when compared with the same period in 2020, while gas production rose by 12.7%. Out of the total oil and gas production in September 2021, oil held a 67.76% share, while gas had a 32.24% share.
In North Dakota, Continental Resources emerged as the largest oil and gas producer, recording a total oil and gas production at 241,412.61 boe/d in September 2021, a decrease of 4.07% from the previous month. The company held a 14.3% share in oil production and 16.03% share in gas production in September 2021.
On a YTD basis, the company registered a 13.64% increase in total oil and gas production from the same period in 2020.
Compared with other counties in North Dakota, Mckenzie county recorded the highest oil and gas production, holding a 43.08% share in September 2021. The county witnessed a 2.87% decrease in production to 700,030.1 boe/d in September 2021 when compared with the previous month.
On a YTD basis, Mckenzie registered an increase of 4.51% in total production from the same period in 2020.
