Oil and gas contracts in Asia-Pacific registered an increase of 2% in August 2021 with 118 contracts, when compared with 116 contracts in the previous month, according to GlobalData’s oil and gas contracts database.
The activity marked a decrease of 8%, when compared with the last 12-month average of 128 contracts.
Contract award activity in Asia-Pacific during August 2021
Looking at contracts by country, India led the activity in August 2021 with 37 contracts representing a 31% share of all the oil and gas contracts, followed by China with 27 contracts and a 23% share and Australia with 23 contracts and a 19% share. It saw an increase of 19% over the previous month’s total of 31 contracts and a decrease of 20% when compared with the last 12 month-average 46 contracts in India.
Based on 12-month moving average, India took the top spot with 45 contracts, followed by China and Australia with 21 and 15 contracts, respectively.
Asia-Pacific’s oil and gas contracts by segment in August 2021
Looking at oil and gas contracts by segment in Asia-Pacific, downstream and upstream segment contributed the most in terms of the contracts awarded, with 40 contracts each in August 2021.
Contracts by scope of work in Asia-Pacific during August 2021
During August 2021, the majority of the contracts awarded were in the procurement space with 62 contracts, followed by design & engineering and operations & maintenance with 43 and 37 contracts, respectively.
