Shenzi is a producing conventional oil field located in deepwater in the US and is operated by Woodside Energy (GOM). According to GlobalData, who tracks more than 34,000 active and developing oil and gas fields worldwide, the field is located in block Green Canyon 653, Green Canyon 609, Green Canyon 610, and Green Canyon 654, with water depth of 4,400 feet. An expansion project is associated with the Shenzi, namely the Shenzi Growth Opportunities. This project is currently in the feasibility stage, expected to start in 2026.

Field participation details

The field is owned by Repsol and Woodside Energy Group.

Production from Shenzi

The Shenzi conventional oil field recovered 86.65% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2010. The peak production was approximately 97.78 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate and 37.00 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2031.

Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 57.24 Mmboe, comprised of 53.54 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 22.20 bcf of natural gas reserves. Shenzi conventional oil field reserves accounts 0.01% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional oil fields globally.
