Contracts in the petrochemicals oil and gas segment registered an increase of 93% with a total of 27 contracts in December 2021, when compared with 14 contracts in the previous month, according to GlobalData’s oil and gas contracts database.
The activity marked an increase of 4%, when compared with the last 12-month average of 26 contracts.

By comparing contracts related to the petrochemicals segment in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 12 contracts and a 44% share in December 2021, followed by Middle East and Europe with six (22%) and five (19%) contracts, respectively.

During the month, the majority of contracts in the petrochemicals segment were awarded in the design & engineering with 17 contracts, followed by procurement and construction with 12 and six contracts, respectively.
