Contracts in the pipeline segment in the oil and gas industry registered an increase in activity by 65% in March 2022 with a total of 43 contracts, when compared with the previous month’s total of 26 contracts, according to GlobalData’s oil and gas contracts database.
A total of 43 contracts were recorded in the pipeline sector globally during the month, when compared with the last 12-month moving average of 32 contracts.
In March 2022, the majority of contracts in the pipeline segment were in the onshore pipeline sub-segment with 35 contracts and a 65% share. Offshore pipeline sub-segment witnessed 19 contracts, during the month.

Asia-Pacific held the top position with 25 contracts and a 58% share during March 2022, followed by Europe and North America with 11 contracts (26%) and four contracts (9%), respectively.

During the month, the majority of contracts in the pipeline segment were awarded in the procurement with 25 contracts, followed by design & engineering and construction with 13 and seven contracts, respectively.
