Contracts in the pipeline segment in the oil and gas industry registered an increase in activity by 13% in Q1 2022 with a total of 98 contracts, when compared with the previous quarter’s total of 87 contracts, according to GlobalData’s oil and gas contracts database.
A total of 98 contracts were recorded in the pipeline sector globally during the quarter, when compared with the last four-quarter moving average of 97 contracts.
The majority of contracts in the pipeline segment were in the onshore pipeline sub-segment with 83 contracts and a 72% share in Q1 2022. Offshore pipeline sub-segment witnessed 33 contracts, during the quarter.

Asia-Pacific held the top position with 41 contracts and a 42% share during Q1 2022, followed by Europe and North America with 27 contracts (28%) and 17 contracts (17%), respectively.

During the quarter, the majority of contracts in the pipeline segment were awarded in the procurement with 50 contracts, followed by design & engineering and construction with 27 and 23 contracts, respectively.
