Contracts in the pipeline segment in the oil and gas industry registered a decrease in activity by 35% in Q3 2022 with a total of 78 contracts, when compared with the previous quarter’s total of 120 contracts, according to GlobalData’s oil and gas contracts database.

A total of 78 contracts were recorded in the pipeline sector globally during the quarter, when compared with the last four-quarter moving average of 113 contracts.

The majority of contracts in the pipeline segment were in the onshore pipeline sub-segment with 64 contracts and a 70% share in Q3 2022. Offshore pipeline sub-segment witnessed 28 contracts, during the quarter.

Asia-Pacific and Europe held the top position with 22 contracts and a 28% share each during Q3 2022, followed by North America with 19 contracts (24%).

During the quarter, the majority of contracts in the pipeline segment were awarded in the procurement with 34 contracts, followed by operations & maintenance and construction with 24 and 19 contracts, respectively.
