Platypus is a conventional gas development located in shallow water in the UK and is operated by Parkmead (E&P). Discovered in 2010, the field with water depth of around 142 feet.

The project is currently in approval stage and is expected to start commercial production in 2023. The Platypus conventional gas development will involve the drilling of approximately two wells and includes subsea manifold and subsea trees.

Production from Platypus

Production from the Platypus conventional gas development project is expected to begin in 2023 and is forecast to peak in 2024, to approximately 233 bpd of crude oil and condensate and 56 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, the production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2059.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 22.71 Mmboe, comprised of 0.55 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 132.94 bcf of natural gas reserves.
