Powder River Shale witnessed an increase of 5.99% in total oil and gas production to 3,05,885.45 boe/d in July 2020 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s USL48 database.
The oil and gas production in Powder River declined 6.93% in July 2020 from 3,28,665.77 boe/d in July 2019. On a YTD basis, the total oil and gas production in the play decreased by 1.43% from the same period in 2019.
In Powder River, oil production grew 4.01% in July 2020 as compared with the previous month, while gas production increased by 8.38% to 820.5 mmcf/d.
On a YTD basis, oil production in the play increased by 0.97% in 2020 when compared with the same period in 2019, while gas production declined by 4.11%. Out of the total oil and gas production in July 2020, oil held a 53.75% share, while gas had a 46.25% share.
In Powder River, EOG Resources emerged as the largest oil and gas producer, recording a total oil and gas production at 51,090.77 boe/d in July 2020, an increase of 46.39% from the previous month. The company held a 16.93% share in oil production and 16.44% share in gas production in July 2020.
On a YTD basis, the company registered a 29.43% decrease in total oil and gas production from the same period in 2019.
Compared with other counties within Powder River Shale, Converse county recorded the highest oil and gas production, holding a 38.77% share in July 2020. The county witnessed a 6.91% increase in production to 1,18,606.01 boe/d in July 2020 when compared with the previous month.
On a YTD basis, it registered a decline of 0.24% in total production from the same period in 2019.
