Raton Shale witnessed an increase of 4.94% in total oil and gas production to 63,372.53 boe/d in September 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s USL48 database.

The oil and gas production in Raton declined 2.99% in September 2021 from 65,323.9 boe/d in September 2020. On a YTD basis, the total oil and gas production in the play decreased by 3.7% from the same period in 2020.

In Raton, gas production increased by 4.94% to 367.56 mmcf/d in September 2021 as compared with the previous month.

On a YTD basis, gas production declined by 3.7% in 2021 when compared with the same period in 2020. Out of the total oil and gas production in September 2021,, while gas had a 100% share.

In Raton, Occidental Petroleum emerged as the largest oil and gas producer, recording a total oil and gas production at 34,489.46 boe/d in September 2021, an increase of 9.29% from the previous month. The company held a 54.42% share in gas production in September 2021.

On a YTD basis, the company registered a 2.03% decrease in total oil and gas production from the same period in 2020.



Compared with other counties within Raton Shale, Las Animas county recorded the highest oil and gas production, holding a 32.84% share in September 2021. The county witnessed a 0.06% increase in production to 20,814.29 boe/d in September 2021 when compared with the previous month.

On a YTD basis, it registered a decline of 8.07% in total production from the same period in 2020.
