Sonat Exploration recorded a decrease of 3.82% in total oil and gas production to 2,113.43 boe/d in August 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s USL48 database.

The oil and gas production of Sonat Exploration grew 18.53% in August 2021 from 1,783.01 boe/d in August 2020.

On a YTD basis, the company’s total oil and gas production increased by 14.46% from the same period in 2020.

The company’s oil production grew 0.83% to 85.27 bd in August 2021 from the previous month, while gas production declined by 3.56% to 11.38 mmcf/d. On a YTD basis, oil production decreased by 13.24% in 2021 when compared with the same period in 2020, while gas production rose by 14.59%. Out of the total oil and gas production in August 2021, oil production held a 4.03% share, while gas production held a 92.84% share.


Looking at the states where Sonat Exploration recorded the highest oil and gas production in August 2021, Texas figured at the top. The company produced 2,113.36 boe/d in the state in August 2021, a decrease of 3.82% from the previous month.

On a YTD basis, the company produced 16,197.21 boe/d in Texas in 2021, recording an increase of 14.46% from the same period in 2020.



Sonat Exploration witnessed the highest oil and gas production in Panola county in August 2021. Out of all the counties, Panola county held a share of 28.18% for the firm. The company produced 595.47 boe/d in Panola county in August 2021, an increase of 2.44% in production when compared with the previous month.

On a YTD basis, the county produced 2,995.16 boe/d for the company in 2021, a 178.86% increase from the same period in 2020.
