Located in Atlantic Ocean in Mauritania, the Tortue 2 LNG liquefaction terminal is owned by BP, Kosmos Energy, Petrosen, and Societe Mauritanienne des Hydrocarbures et de Patrimoine Minier and will be operated by BP, once it becomes operational in 2026.


The Tortue 2 LNG liquefaction terminal will source gas from the following fields -Tortue Phase 2 (Mauritania) and Tortue Phase 2 (Senegal)

With one train, Tortue 2 terminal will have an initial LNG production capacity of 2.5Mtpa (million tons per annum).


During the period 2021-2025, the Tortue 2 liquefaction plant is expected to witness an estimated capex of $1,198.8m.
