Tuscaloosa Marine Shale witnessed a decrease of 3.24% in total oil and gas production to 37,712.33 boe/d in December 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s USL48 database.
The oil and gas production in Tuscaloosa Marine declined 11.78% in December 2021 from 42,747.89 boe/d in December 2020. On a YTD basis, the total oil and gas production in the play decreased by 4.48% from the same period in 2020.
In Tuscaloosa Marine, oil production grew 2.13% in December 2021 as compared with the previous month, while gas production decreased by 5.31% to 154.49 mmcf/d.
On a YTD basis, oil production in the play increased by 0.65% in 2021 when compared with the same period in 2020, while gas production declined by 6.35%. Out of the total oil and gas production in December 2021, oil held a 29.37% share, while gas had a 70.63% share.
In Tuscaloosa Marine, W & T Offshore emerged as the largest oil and gas producer, recording a total oil and gas production at 20,045.39 boe/d in December 2021, a decrease of 5.75% from the previous month. The company held a 0.37% share in oil production and 75.1% share in gas production in December 2021.
On a YTD basis, the company registered a 5.63% decrease in total oil and gas production from the same period in 2020.
Compared with other counties within Tuscaloosa Marine Shale, Baldwin county recorded the highest oil and gas production, holding a 31.51% share in December 2021. The county witnessed a 6.74% decrease in production to 11,883.03 boe/d in December 2021 when compared with the previous month.
On a YTD basis, it registered a decline of 4.72% in total production from the same period in 2020.
