Contracts in the upstream oil and gas segment registered an increase of 10% with a total of 324 contracts in December 2021, when compared with 294 contracts in the previous month, according to GlobalData’s oil and gas contracts database.
The activity marked a decrease of 4%, when compared with the last 12-month average of 337 contracts.

By comparing contracts related to the upstream segment in different regions of the globe, Europe held the top position with 162 contracts and a 50% share in December 2021, followed by North America and Asia-Pacific with 63 (19%) and 41 (13%) contracts, respectively.

During the month, the majority of contracts in the upstream segment were awarded in the operations & maintenance with 232 contracts, followed by procurement and design & engineering with 72 and 53 contracts, respectively.
