Zarama Conventional Gas Field, Nigeria

Zarama is a producing conventional gas field located onshore Nigeria and is operated by Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria. The field is located in block OML 28.

The field is owned by Nigerian National Petroleum, Shell, Eni and TotalEnergies.


Production from Zarama

The Zarama conventional gas field recovered 48.84% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2011. The peak production was approximately 22.02 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate and 563 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2055. The field currently accounts for approximately 2% of the country’s daily output.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 264.44 Mmboe, comprised of 21.46 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 1,457.88 bcf of natural gas reserves. Zarama conventional gas field reserves accounts 0.09% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional gas fields globally.
