Cardinal Midstream III is set to use Honeywell UOP Russell’s modular cryogenic equipment to process natural gas at its Iron Horse complex in Grady County, Oklahoma, US.

The upgrade will help Cardinal Midstream III process 200 million standard cubic feet of natural gas per day and is expected to reduce project schedules. The equipment is claimed to have been custom-built for optimal performance when processing the natural gas liquid (NGL) rich gas found in Oklahoma.

The plant now has the ability to recover NGL at high rates and low operating expenses, which will enable Cardinal to offer competitive processing to gas producers in the region.

“We’re delivering a customised plant to match the rich feed gas composition in the basin.”

Honeywell UOP Russell business director Craig Ranta said: “Cardinal chose to go with Honeywell due to our proven approach to gas processing solutions that increase yields of high-value NGLs.

“We’re delivering a customised plant to match the rich feed gas composition in the basin, while the high NGL recovery helps Cardinal be more competitive in capturing contracts from producers.”

The pre-engineered modular equipment offered by Honeywell can be customised according to the specifications of the customer.
