France-based geoscience company CGG has added two multi-client 3D surveys that are focused on Anadarko Basin, Oklahoma, US, to enhance its data library.
The company acquired the Chickasha 3D survey in Grady and Caddo Counties, Oklahoma, and has purchased the rights to the Ft Reno 3D survey in Canadian County.
Along with the existing Yukon survey, the two additional surveys will allow the company to have extensive coverage of the Scoop and Stack play in the Anadarko Basin, as well offer greater insight to its clients into the geology of the area.
CGG multi-client and new ventures executive vice-president Luc Schlumberger said: “Strong industry support and interest encouraged us to expand our high-quality data library into these new areas of the Anadarko Basin.
“The multi-disciplinary approach behind our full reservoir optimisation packages comprising reservoir-oriented acquisition, advanced imaging and reservoir characterisation will enable our clients to maximise their drilling and completion success.”
The company noted that high-end imaging of all three data sets will provide to its clients an improved understanding of the facies distribution of the Meramec, Osage and Woodford play intervals in the Scoop and Stack.
CGG has completed a preliminary pre-stack time migration (PSTM).
A 5D interpolated PSTM is anticipated to be available in the second quarter of this year, leading to a full reservoir optimisation package (ROP) on both the Chickasha Merge and Yukon 3D surveys.
The firm provides geological, geophysical and reservoir capabilities to global oil and gas customers.
