Basra Oil Company (BOC) has awarded a $370m engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract to Petrofac to expand the central processing facility (CPF) in the Majnoon field in southern Iraq.
The scope of the EPC contract includes the construction of two oil processing trains at the CPF with a processing capacity of 200,000 barrels of oil a day.
BOC is an Iraqi oil and gas company, while Petrofac is a US-based oilfield services provider.
Baker Hughes has been contracted by Cairn Oil & Gas to construct 300 new wells at the latter’s Mangala, Bhagyam and Aishwariya fields in Rajasthan, India.
The contract also includes the deployment of a chemical EOR programme to enhance production. It is planned to be executed in phases over the next two years.
Based in the US, Baker Hughes is an industrial services provider to the oil and gas industry and a subsidiary of GE, while Cairn Oil & Gas is an Indian oil and gas subsidiary of Vedanta Resources.

By GlobalDataSaudi Aramco, Air Products and ACWA Power have announced plans to establish a gasification/power joint venture (JV) with an $8bn investment.
The JV will purchase Saudi Aramco’s gasification, power block and the associated assets, which are currently under construction in Jazan Economic City (JEC), Saudi Arabia, for more than $8bn. It will operate the gasification/power facility under a 25-year contract.
The gasification/power facility will receive feedstock from Saudi Aramco and produce and supply power, hydrogen and other utilities for the latter’s Jazan refinery and terminal located within the JEC.
Air Products will own a 55% interest in the JV, while Saudi Aramco and ACWA Power will own the remaining stake.
Both based in Saudi Arabia, Saudi Aramco is a state-owned oil company, while ACWA Power is a power generation company.
Air Products is a US-based provider of speciality gases, performance materials and services.
Cenovus Energy has signed an agreement to divest its Pipestone and Wembley natural gas and liquids business located in Alberta, Canada, to an undisclosed company for C$625m ($474.9m).
The transaction also includes a 39% stake in the Wembley gas plant.
Based in Canada, Cenovus Energy is an oil and natural gas company.
Moda Midstream has signed an agreement with Occidental Petroleum to purchase the latter’s Oxy Ingleside Energy Center (IEC) located in Texas, US.
The IEC transports oil and gas produced from the Eagle Ford Shale and Permian Basin to various domestic and international markets. It can handle a wide range of vessels and has a storage capacity of 2.1 million barrels.
Moda Midstream is a liquid terminaling and logistics provider, while Occidental Petroleum is an oil and natural gas exploration and production company.
Both companies are based in the US.
