GeoPark and YPF together have purchased interests in the Los Parlamentos block in the Neuquen basin in Argentina.
Located in the Mendoza Province, the Los Parlamentos block covers 366,000 acres.
GeoPark will take over 50% non-operating working interest in Los Parlamentos, as part of the transaction. It will also finance 50% of the cost of one exploration well and 3D seismic study.
GeoPark is a Chilean oil and gas company, while YPF is an integrated energy company based in Argentina.
The acquisition will enable GeoPark to expand its footprint in the Neuquen basin.
Sonatrach has signed an agreement with Total, Repsol and Alnaft (the National Agency for the Valorisation of Hydrocarbon Resources) to extend the licence for the Tin Fouyé Tabankort (TFT) gas and condensate field for a period of 25 years.
Following approval from relevant authorities, the partners in the field will be Sonatrach (51%), Total (26.4%) and Repsol (22.6%).
Based in Algeria, Sonatrach is a state-owned oil and gas firm, while Total is an integrated oil and gas company based in France and Repsol is an integrated energy company based in Spain.
The Saipem and CTCI joint venture has secured a $925m contract from oil and gas firm PTT LNG Company to provide onshore engineering and construction services in Thailand.
The contractual scope includes engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of the Nong Fab terminal located in Mueang Rayong district, south-east of Thailand.
Saipem is a contractor for the oil and gas industry and a subsidiary of Italian energy company Eni, while CTCI is an engineering and construction firm based in Thailand.
South Korean gas and power company SK E&S has signed a letter of intent (LoI) with the Philippines Department of Energy to build a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal for $1.7bn.
To be located in Luzon Island in the Philippines, the proposed LNG terminal will have a capacity of approximately five million tonnes a year.
Other infrastructure planned to be developed as part of the project includes several LNG power plants with a combined capacity of more than 600MW and a 150km-long pipeline connecting them to the terminal.
